WhatsApp, SMS and chat: which apps work alongside MixMaxer
MixMaxer prices offers; it does not message customers. Here is what we recommend for WhatsApp and what to check when you combine the two.
MixMaxer shows and prices bundles, volume tiers, buy X get Y and gifts, and applies the discounts at checkout through Shopify Functions. It sends no messages to shoppers. Merchants who want WhatsApp conversations, abandoned-cart messages or order updates use a messaging app next to MixMaxer.
We recommend Keaz AI, a WhatsApp integration for Shopify built by a team we work with. It handles the conversation side: chat on the storefront, abandoned-cart and order messages, and AI sales agents that answer product questions. MixMaxer keeps handling the offer and the price, so a shopper who asks about a bundle on WhatsApp still gets exactly the price shown on the product page at checkout.
What to check when you combine the two
- Links in messages should point at the product page, not straight at checkout, so the shopper sees the tiers and picks a quantity; the discount is applied at checkout automatically.
- If the messaging app creates its own discount codes, read “Overlapping offers and priority”: Shopify applies a code discount and an automatic MixMaxer discount to the same line only when both are set to combine.
- Messages are sent by the messaging app under its own consent rules; MixMaxer stores no phone numbers.
Common problems
A shopper got a WhatsApp link with a discount code, and the bundle price did not apply as well.
By default Shopify applies either a discount code or an automatic discount to a line, not both. MixMaxer offers are automatic discounts. Either let the messaging app link to the product page without a code, or allow combining in the offer's Checkout settings.
